Mission
God's love is amazing! Our vision is to see lives of people in Uxbridge transformed through knowing God's love and living Christ's way. Knowing God's love can make such a difference and he therefore calls us to do everything we can to share his love. Jesus said "Love your neighbour as yourself" and it is our desire as a church to be growing in love for our neighbour, seeking to share God's amazing love through word and action. We are currently seeking to share God's love in a variety if different way. Oasis Uxbridge, for example, seeking to serve people in the centre of Uxbridge in all kinds of different ways. Alpha offers the opportunity to explore the Christian faith and ask the hard questions. Our mission links, and parish challenge, focus on mission beyond on the parish. Mission and witness are a natural expression of God's love. God loves every single one of us, not matter how old or young we are, what background we come from or what we do and knowing his love can make such a difference. He therefore calls us to do everything we can to share his love. We are currently seeking to share God's love in a variety of different ways. Oasis Uxbridge seeks to serve people in the centre of Uxbridge. We recognise that life can be challenging and demanding in all kinds of different ways. With this in mind, Oasis offers opportunities for rest, refreshment and renewal through a varied programme for those working in the centre of Uxbridge, including a confidential listening service, thought provoking business events and opportunities for spiritual exploration. We also provide a number of facilities and activities for the wider community, including the Oasis Coffee Bar, Footprints for bereaved people, Praymates for children under 5 and their parents/ carers and varied opportunities for worship during the week.
Alpha offers the opportunity to explore the Christian faith and ask whether it can really provide any answers to some of the fundamental question in life e.g. why am I here, what is life really all about, is it only about however many years on earth and then nothing or is there more to it than that. Discussions are relaxed, friendly and informal and any questions are welcome. We offer regular daytime and evening courses and also Business Alpha, which offers workers the opportunity to explore at lunchtime.
Mission beyond Uxbridge Parish is also vitally important to us. We have links with a variety of mission projects and organisations in different countries and each year a tenth of our church income is allocated to various mission causes. In recent years we have also undertaken a 'Parish Challenge', seeking to raise money for a specific project in a different part of the world.
