Something For Nothing
St Margaret's Day - 19/07/08
This St. Margaret’s Day we are inviting the whole church to come together… but not just for a great social time together (although we hope to do that as well), but to serve our neighbours.
LATEST NEWS: A huge 'Thank You' to everyone who took part in what was a highly successful day for all. Below are a selection of pictures from the day. . .
What is 'Something For Nothing' ?
We hope to offer to serve our neighbours and those in need in the town, by doing jobs in small teams that will help – garden clearance, simple decorating or tidying – whatever odd jobs that may need doing. We want to make a positive difference in people’s lives and to demonstrate in our actions the Grace (free love) of God.
We hope everyone will be able to find a way of helping… for some doing physical work, for others showing friendship and kindness, for others preparing and serving food. We plan to end the day with a barbeque in the early evening to which all will be invited, workers and those who may have received help.
Photos of the Day

The Ladies are busy in the kitchen...

...there are 4 large salads to make...

...and 845 strawberries to wash!

Meanwhile, the Lads are out fighting with a rather unruly hedge...

...that's much better!

A quick stop for a photo...

...but doesn't the garden look better?!

The hedge is almost gone...

Job done. It's off home for a quick wash then to the BBQ...
