"Whoever loves God must also love their brother and sister." 1 John 4:21
Loving and caring for each other is foundational to following Jesus.
We want to live this out in practice at St Andrews and all of us can be and are involved.
Our structure is care within our various small groups and within our pastoral team.
Our aim is that each congregation has key people to coordinate this within our 8 am and 10 am Sunday services and to develop this within our 9.15am Wednesday service.
With the help of these teams we aim to:
- Mark and celebrate special occasions e.g. births, marriages, significant wedding anniversaries, significant birthdays;
- Support bereaved people by sending a card, flowers and also visiting and attending the funeral;
- Visit or be in touch with those who are unwell (at home or in hospital);
- Care for people at vulnerable times by listening and praying;
- Giving practical help to those in need;
- Support people who are alone or elderly;
- Get in touch with people who have not been in church for 3 or 4 weeks to check if they are okay.
We send birthday and Christmas cards to the over eighties - please contact Sue Clark via the Parish Office for further information.
Approximately 4 times a year volunteers from the Uxbridge parish help patients go to the Sunday chapel service in Hillingdon Hospital.
Approximately 3 times a year St Margaret's and St Andrew's volunteers help to cook and serve Sunday lunch for single people in Uxbridge. This is organised in conjunction with other churches in Uxbridge.
