The Vicar – Fr. Cliff Bowman

Fr. Cliff worked for two years in a Night Shelter in Leeds before training for ministry in Cambridge. He was ordained in Derby Cathedral in 1982 and served two curacies, the first in Sawley (1982-85) and the second in the Diocese of Southwell in the Hucknall Team Ministry (1985 –89).

He then became the Rector of Warsop with Sookholme, a large training parish in the Nottinghamshire coalfields. (1989-2000) After this he spent six years as the full-time Diocesan Chaplain amongst Deaf people in Nottinghamshire.

Fr Cliff was licensed as the Vicar of St Andrew’s in the September of 2006.

He is married to Dot, a Westminster based Nurse Practitioner, and they have two grown up daughters.

Church Warden -   Sue Leatherby

Sue is a woman of many talents. She grew up in Harefield. She spent the early part of her working life as a secretary in a variety places including Trimite, where she met her husband, Jim. Later she worked at the Greenwood veterinary clinic where as well as doing the admin she also learned to castrate cats!

Since 1994 Sue has worked as a residential social worker at Charles Curran House, a home for adults with profound mental and physical learning difficulties.


 

Pastoral Assistant - Rosie Halford

Since leaving school Rosie has worked in the accounts department of a number of Solicitor’s practices. She is now based in Uxbridge where she works as the accounts supervisor of a recently combined practice. Rosie is one of the key lay ministers at St Andrew’s. She has been a Churchwarden and is a Pastoral Assistant and also leader of the Welcome team and co-ordinator of the Pastoral Care team. Rosie is the person who you ask when you need to know someone or something…. She is also amazingly humble and has a good sense of humour, which is a real blessing in someone so efficient!

 

 

Pastoral Assistant – Kathy Brett

Kathy was born in Leicester. She drifted away from Church in her teenage years but during a time of depression had a profound experience of God’s love.

She moved to Uxbridge in 1996 and enjoys the warm modern catholic spirituality of St Andrew’s. Kathy has recently trained and been commissioned as a Pastoral Assistant and has asked to have a special responsibility for witnessing and to help us learn to be more effective in our outreach.

Kathy is married to Richard and is mum to James.
